The Alligator Paradox

An alligator, who has stolen a child, promises the parents of said child that it will be returned if and only if they correctly predict what the alligator will do next.
"You will give the child back" "You will not give the child back"
The alligator gives back the child The prediction is correct, and the alligator keeps his word. The alligator cannot follow his own rules.
The alligator does not give back the child The prediction is incorrect, and the alligator keeps the child. The alligator cannot follow his own rules.
